Our present Principal is Mrs.W.A Nandawathi. She is called as Mrs. Nanda Wijasingha byeveryone. She was born at Yatiyana on the 8^th of April, 1948. She completed her primary education at Yatiyana Buddhist mixed School. She won a Scholarship in grade five and athended Kataluwa Central College. In 1965 She passed the G.C.E (Ordinary Level) Examination and was admithed to Aparekka Maha Vidyalaya. She entered the University of Sri Lanka, Peradeniya in 1968. As her target was to become a teacher She completed the Bachelor of Education degree in 1972 with honors obtaining a second lower division. She excelled in sports, specially as a netball player in her school days as well as an undergraduate.

After two weeks of receiving the results was appointed to Koslanda Maha Vidyalaya, Bandarawela Education Division as an assistant teacher  on the 21^st of May, 1973. In 1974 she was transferred to Buttala  Dutugamuna Maha Vidyalaya in Monaragala. She married Mr. A.H.Gunasena in 1974 and was living at Buttala. At Preseut he is the chief welfare Officer, of the prisons Department for the Southern Province. She is the Mother of  3 sons.

In 1979 she got a transfer to Yatiyana  Maha Vidyalaya and after year she was transferred again to Talpavila Madya Maha Vidyalaya ,in 1981. During this period she got through the Sri Lanka  Education Service (S.L.E.S) and became the Principal of Talaramba  M.M.V. in  1991. In 1992 she was appointed as Assistant Pirector .Divisional Education Office Welipitiya, and from 1994 she wae attached to Akuressa Education Office.

She obtained her master of Education digress (M.Ed.) in 1997 and became a Deputy  Director. She devoted herself  and worked hard to develop the Primary and Secondary education of the Akureessa Zone.

Her tenure at Akuressa ended with her being appointed as Deputy  Director to Matara Zonal  Education Office, and Later was appointed as Zonal Director, Matara  3rd March, 2006. After being transferred to Akuressa again as Zonal Director, she served for about one year. She is Presently Principal of Sujatha Vidyalaya Since 1^st of June, 2007.

Sujatha Vidyalaya is one of the leading girls Schools in Sri Lanka with about 5000 girls who could outshine any in all fields. A team of 186 teachers pare the path of these Children with their guidance and through their observation she expects the School to become.
